Pullman Police Department Noise Variances

NOISE VARIANCE
(Pullman City Code, Chapter 8.80)


Noise is regulated in the City of Pullman as a nuisance. Electronically amplified sound is regulated 24 hours a day. Electronically amplified sound includes radio, stereos, televisions, car radios, and electronic musical instruments. After 10 p.m. any sound is regulated including voices. Application for a noise variance shall be made to the Chief of Police at least two weeks prior to the event. Variances shall be issued only upon application in writing and after providing such information as is requested on the noise variance application.

Variances may be granted if findings are made that any such variance is:
  1. in the public interest
  2. that the proposed activity will have a substantial public participation
