Smart irrigation
The city of Pullman has completed a major project to upgrade our irrigation systems. New irrigation systems are in parks, cemeteries, playfields, and utility property. Improvements include new irrigation pipe, sprinkler heads, controllers, moisture sensors, wind sensors, and overflow shutoffs.
The moisture sensors, invented and manufactured locally, indicate when irrigation is necessary.
A healthy lawn and a low water bill: a scientist’s perspective was presented to Pullman City Council at their regular meeting of June 7, 2011: Scheduled Irrigation.
