The Pullman Police Department offers citizens the opportunity to ride along with patrol officers and observe the typical scenarios encountered by and duties of a Pullman Police officer.  During the ride along, officers and citizens can speak openly about the nature of police work.

To participate in the citizen ride-along program, citizens must be 18-years old, or have written parental approval, and are required to complete an application and liability waiver form and successfully complete a background check.  Citizens can request to ride with a specific officer, on a specific day of the week, and/or during a specific shift.  Every effort will be made to accommodate the requests, but it may cause delays in scheduling the ride-along.

Once an application is approved, the citizen ride coordinator contacts the citizen to schedule the ride-along date and time.  Citizens are limited to one ride along per calendar year, but exceptions may be authorized by Commander Chris Tennant.  Applications can be picked up at the Pullman Police Department.
