Sexual Assault

Adult sexual assault occurs in Pullman like other “nice” community. Statistics say most sexual assaults are not reported to the police. Most sexual assaults are perpetrated by someone known to the victim, and often by someone the victim trusts.

When an assault is reported to police, investigations consist of a coordinated effort including the Pullman Police Department, Pullman Regional Hospital with their specially trained SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) nurses, Advocates from Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse (ATVP) and the Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office. As a police agency, we are here to assist those assaulted conscientiously, helping them in the manner that best fits their individual needs. If you would like to talk with an officer, call 332-2521.
