Concealed Pistol License

EFFECTIVE May 1, 2012

Due to significantly reduced staffing levels, the Pullman Police Department will only be able to process new (original) concealed pistol license (CPL) applications on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

Renewal and Replacement CPL applications can still be processed Monday through Friday.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.

Applying for a Concealed Pistol License

Citizens who live within the city limits of Pullman and those who live out of state are eligible to apply for a Washington Concealed Pistol License at the Pullman Police Department.

Citizens who live outside the city limits will need to apply with the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office located in Colfax.  *All non-US citizens must also apply with the Whitman County Sheriff’s office.

We accept applications Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30.  You will need to fill out an application and all original applicants will be fingerprinted at the time of application.  You will be asked to review your typed permit and at that time sign your permit.  You will want to allow approximately 20 minutes for the entire process.  You should receive your permit in the mail within 30 days.  We highly recommend you have your permit laminated to help preserve it for the 5 years it is good for.

Look for a change in this procedure in October.  Permits will come directly from DOL in a hard plastic form much like your driver’s license.

What is the License Fee?

  • Original license fee is - $55.25
  • Renewal license fee is - $32.00
  • Late renewal license fee is - $42.00
  • Replacement fee is - $10.00

Please be aware that CPL applications can be denied or after issued revoked due to a prohibiting violation.  Money paid is non-refundable.
